Chromotherapy uses colour and light to improve your mental and physical state. Even if the concept may seem new, there’s nothing young about this practise. In fact, throughout Ancient Egypt, Greece and China, chromotherapy was implemented in the form of ‘colour halls’ - rooms painted a certain shade to heal certain ailments. There are Papyrus sheets dating back to 1550 BC that discuss colour ‘cures’!
Ever since these ancient days colour has been used to heal and aid both your physical and mental health. Colour can do some crazy things, but the simplest benefit of chromotherapy is its ability to make you relax.
Here at the Pure Wellness Studio, we combine our infrared saunas with chromotherapy to maximise the benefits of your sweat session. When it comes to relaxation, we have a handful of colours on our colour menu we’d recommend.
GREEN
Find your flow under a vibrant green light that we call 'BALANCE'. Green lights create a neutral, positive, calming effect which is great for balancing out your mood and energy. It also provides anti-infectious, antiseptic and regenerative stimulation.
VIOLET
Clear the ‘brain fog’ and gain some perspective under our violet chromotherapy light, aptly named 'CLARITY'. Violet is used to calm the nervous system, soothe organs and relax muscles. Its meditative qualities are often used to treat conditions of the lymphatic system.
BLUE
Blue is the quintessential colour for relaxation - hence why we named it our 'RELAXATION' light. Let ‘calm’ wash over you as you rest under our blue chromotherapy lights. Blue promotes relaxation and calm. It exhibits tranquillising qualities to relieve headaches, migraines, colds, stress, nervous tension, stomach pains, rheumatism, muscle cramps and liver disorders.
